ASOCIACIÓN ENTRE TABAQUISMO Y CONDUCTAS SEXUALES DE RIESGO PARA CÁNCER DE CUELLO UTERINO
Resumen
El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la asociación entre fumar y las conductas sexuales de riesgo para cáncer cervical en mujeres mediante un análisis secundario de la Encuesta Demográfica y de Salud Familiar (ENDES) 2012 que incluye a mujeres de 15 a 49 años. Se evaluaron las variables: fumar actualmente, número de parejas sexuales, edad de la primera relación sexual, consumo de alcohol en la última relación sexual y uso de condón en la última relación sexual. El análisis fue de regresión logística para muestras complejas, obteniendo odds ratios ajustados (ORa) por edad, nivel de instrucción, índice de riqueza y región, con intervalos de confianza al 95% (IC95.) Se incluyeron 23888 mujeres en el análisis, el 4,9% reportó fumar. Fumar se asoció a 3 parejas sexuales (ORa: 2,2 IC95%: 1,6-3,0), consumo de alcohol en la última relación sexual 2,94 (ORa: 2,9 IC95%: 1,5-5,6) e inicio temprano de relaciones sexuales (ORa: 2,8; IC95%: 1,1-7,6). La asociación evidencia a las mujeres fumadoras como un grupo vulnerable en el cual se deben mejorar los sistemas de prevención y detección de cáncer cervical.
